Introducing WorldatWork 511: The Course and Event Disruption Notification Line
877-511-1608
WorldatWork has instituted a new course and event disruption notification protocol in case any natural or man-made emergency impacts a scheduled educational event. The new WorldatWork 511 system streamlines the process to alert course presenters, participants and partners of any last-minute changes to events, both on site and online.

Now, when hurricanes, blizzards, accidents, illness, technology disruptions or other emergencies cancel, delay or somehow impact a scheduled educational course, the WorldatWork 511 telephonic system is in place so you can access (or report) emergency information.

WorldatWork 511 is for you to use to report a problem (instructor is late, last-minute venue change, technology error) so we may update everyone of the status of an event that may be threatened by a disruption to the facility, faculty, technology or course materials.

If you dial WorldatWork 511, at 877-511-1608, to report an event disruption, the phone line will ask for your name and phone number, the course name and location, and the nature of the problem. The phone system will then forward the message to multiple WorldatWork staff contacts for the specific problem. When the message is received and details are confirmed, the WorldatWork contact will update the phone system with the status of the course, seminar or event for any later callers.

You should use WorldatWork 511 if:

  • You are a WorldatWork course instructor and will be delayed due to weather, illness or some other emergency.
  • You are a course sponsor or host and inclement weather has led to the cancellation of other local events.
  • You are scheduled to attend a Virtual CourseCast or Webinar and the online server is unavailable.
  • You want to hear the latest status of a course or event (i.e. the instructor will arrive at 11 a.m.; the course has moved to a different location).
  • You want to report any other problem that affects the whole class.

While we never anticipate a disruption to a course or event, WorldatWork has taken steps to ensure that we can act quickly and effectively to resolve any problem. Dial 877-511-1608.

E-Binders and Bulk Binder Delivery Changes
WorldatWork has implemented a change to the delivery of course materials. Course binders will be shipped directly to the event location for attendees to receive on the first day of the course. In addition, course participants will now have the opportunity to access the course binder electronically, as an e-binder PDF. The e-binder will be accessible two weeks prior to the course start date or upon registration if you register within two weeks of the course. Attendees will receive an e-mail with information on how to access the e-binder.

Shipping binders in bulk to the course location and providing an online experience for attendees helps:

  • Ease the burden of course participants traveling with a bulky binder
  • Prevent participants from forgetting to bring the binder with them to the course
  • Eliminate return binder shipping fees for participants if they cancel
  • Eliminate binder shipping fees for participants who register late for the course
  • Ensure a more consistent experience among courses
  • Continue to offer access to course materials before the start date

E-binder and bulk binder delivery will roll out to other WorldatWork courses in phases through 2008 and 2009.
If you have any questions about this delivery change please contact WorldatWork Customer Relationship Services at customerrelations@worldatwork.org or call 877-951-9191.
