Scholarship Program Details
- Scholarships are open to both members and non-members of WorldatWork.
- Scholarships will be offered on an ongoing basis until WorldatWork, at its sole discretion, terminates the Scholarship Program.
- WorldatWork decides the number of scholarship grants based on the following factors:
- the number of applicants that meet the Scholarship Program Qualifications;
- the funds and resources available for the Scholarship Program;
- the relative need of applicants, as determined in WorldatWork's sole discretion;
- the relative merit of applicants, as determined in WorldatWork's sole discretion;
Scholarship Program Qualifications
- Scholarship recipient is an HR practitioner, and has been employed in the HR profession for at least two years;
- Recipient cannot afford WorldatWork training and certification because Recipient is unemployed, underemployed, or underfunded;
- Neither Recipient nor Recipient’s immediate family members or domestic partner(s) is a current member of WorldatWork’s staff, faculty, or Board;
- Recipient has submitted a complete scholarship application online, including a complete work/salary history and an essay (no more than 200 words) describing the importance of the WorldatWork certification to Recipient’s career development and an explanation of financial need;
- Recipient fully authorizes WorldatWork (and its agents) to validate information provided in support of the scholarship application;
- Recipient’s current or most recent supervisor or professional colleague has submitted a support letter recommending the Recipient and Recipient’s need for the Scholarship;
- Recipient has been interviewed (over the phone) by a representative of the Scholarship Program and has been deemed to have qualified for the Scholarship.
Recipient Rights and Obligations
- Recipient shall have one year to complete the pertinent self-paced certification e-learning courses needed toward the specific designation the scholarship was intended for. Recipient will be granted 60-day access to self-paced e-learning courses for certification preparation. The scholar is responsible for the extension fee it they wish to access e-learning preparation materials for longer than 60 days.
- During the one-year scholarship period, Recipient shall receive all training and coursework through WorldatWork’s self-paced certification e-Learning solutions.
- Recipient shall not use or disclose confidential or proprietary information obtained through WorldatWork training/education, including without limitation, coursework materials.
- Recipient will indicate his/her agreement with the scholarship terms and conditions by signing a legal agreement to that effect. A signed legal agreement must be received within two weeks from the date on the document.
WorldatWork Rights and Obligations
- WorldatWork shall allow Recipient to complete as much pertinent certification preparation coursework as possible in one year by allowing access to WorldatWork’s self-paced certification e-Learning solutions.
- WorldatWork agrees to waive recipient’s WorldatWork membership fees and WorldatWork self-paced e-Learning course fees for one year.
- WorldatWork agrees to cover one exam fee per course, but will not cover retake, cancellation/rescheduling fees or any other testing-related costs (i.e. cost of the trip to the testing center).
- WorldatWork reserves the right to revoke, suspend, or terminate the Recipient’s scholarship or training at any time, within WorldatWork’s sole discretion.
