Anne C. Ruddy is President of WorldatWork and its affiliate organizations, Alliance for Work-Life Progress (AWLP) and WorldatWork Society of Certified Professionals.
Prior to joining WorldatWork in 1999, Ruddy was a vice president at Travelers and, following the Citibank merger, led one of Citigroup's first cross-sell initiatives for small-business customers. She held senior executive positions at Aetna Life & Casualty. She left Aetna in 1994 to manage the Arizona insurance brokerage operation of Alexander & Alexander Inc., but returned to Aetna the next year as a vice president to lead the creation and development of a new national strategic business unit.
Under Ruddy’s leadership, WorldatWork was recognized as a Distinguished Organization by the National Academy of Human Resources in 2005. For two years in a row, in 2008 and 2009, WorldatWork received the Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility as well as the Top 25 Workplaces for Women in the Valley. In 2009, it won the American Psychological Association’s Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award at the state and national levels.
Ruddy has been quoted in numerous business publications including USA Today, Forbes, Baltimore Examiner, San Diego Union-Tribune, Globe & Mail, as well as broadcast media such as CNN and Wall Street Journal Radio. She is a frequent speaker on the subject of employee engagement, total rewards, ethics, and the future of work.
