Don B. Lindner, Certified Compensation Professional, Certified Benefits Professional, Global Remuneration Professional, is the executive compensation practice leader for WorldatWork. Lindner serves as staff liaison to the WorldatWork Executive Rewards Advisory Board, which operates as the association’s strategic committee for identifying, articulating and prioritizing issues, topics and challenges affecting the profession in the executive rewards area. Lindner also has responsibility for developing WorldatWork certification courses relating to executive rewards and governance. He is a nationally recognized expert on stock option grant practices and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) proxy disclosure rule changes. He is the executive editor of Reading Proxy Statements: A Guide to the New SEC Disclosure Rules for Executive and Director Compensation (WorldatWork 2007).
Prior to joining WorldatWork, Lindner spent 20 years as a senior compensation and human resources practitioner at Phelps Dodge Corporation and Security Pacific Bank (currently Bank of America). In addition to his practitioner experience, he has over ten years of experience as a compensation consultant with Watson Wyatt, Buck Consultants and Executive Compensation Associates.
Lindner has been quoted extensively for his expertise in executive compensation and governance in major business publications including Washington Post, New York Times, Investors Business Daily, Los Angeles Times, Forbes, Business Week, Newsday, Financial Times, Financial Week, and several non-US newspapers such as Guardian, Australian Financial Review, Globe and Mail, Handelsblatt, and Les Echos.
Most recently, Lindner led the development of the WorldatWork Executive Rewards Questionary, an online tool to help compensation committees and practitioners clearly identify every essential factor for rewarding executives and directors.
