Get $250 off your WorldatWork Course!
Participate in our 2007 Course Attendance Campaign:
DRIVE FOR 25!

If you sponsor a WorldatWork certification course between April 1 and December 31, 2007 with 25 or more confirmed attendees, we’ll give your association $250! Use the additional revenue for your association or give it to a special member in your group! It’s as easy as that!

Promoting your sponsored WorldatWork event really isn't very hard, and it can make the difference between success and failure. Combine the following tips and tools with WorldatWork promotional programs and you're likely to go farand get $250 off your certification course!

Distribute Fliers—We’ve even made it easy for you!
Link to a ready-made, one page course description flier that you can print out and customize with your course date, location and registration information. Just print out copies and distribute at your next meeting, to other HR associations, or to corporations in your area. A simple flier campaign is an effective way to get the word out.

E-mail Your Members
We all know e-mail is the fastest way to communicate these days. Make sure your database is up-to-date and your members have given you permission to communicate to them this way. Then craft a compelling message, include the course description PDF and push the button!

Post on Your Web Site - On EVERY Page!
That's right... every page. After looking through your site and seeing a link to your event on every page, potential attendees are sure to click on at least one of them. Promoting your program on every page will not only utilize the proven marketing method of repetition, but it will also display your enthusiasm, which is a great tool as well. Verbiage such as, “You won’t want to miss this event!” will entice them to read on!

Advertise in Your Association Newsletter
Your newsletter is the perfect place to promote your courses. Position an ad with all the main marketing elements prominently and often. Make sure you include the who, what, why, when and where! And don’t forget to focus your marketing message on “what’s in it for them” (benefits of attending): Getting professionally certified or simply receiving practical knowledge to help them do their jobs better. Include the PDF flier insert with your newsletter mailing too…more exposure means more enrollments!

Announce it in Your Local Business Journal or Newspaper
Events Calendars

Call or e-mail your local newspaper business section editor and request that your event be included in their calendars. Normally, it’s FREE!

Increase Your Visibility Within Your Community
There are many ways to get your name out there without spending a lot of money. Are you a member of your local Chamber of Commerce? Do you have relationships with other local professional groups? Link your Web site to other local sites, and get your association listed in online and local printed directories. You never know who will surf right on over to your site and register for your class!

Word of Mouth
We can't say enough about word-of-mouth advertising. If you're excited about your event, talk about it. Give your colleagues and members a call! Use the courses as opportunities to network with them and encourage them to attend the class and tell others about it. They’ll tell others and so on, and so on… You get the picture!

Conferences & Tradeshows
Are you holding your annual conference or going to a national HR conference? Take along some fliers or a brochure to pass around to prospective attendees in the HR, compensation, benefits, work-life and total rewards fields.

Member Incentive Promotions
Get your board and/or members involved in recruiting attendees to your courses. Offer an incentive to the member who recruits the most attendees. Be creative and get everyone involved!

Redesigned WorldatWork Web Site to Debut April 30
On April 30, WorldatWork will launch a new and improved Web site. New features include: ability to select your homepage based on your professional interest; a completely new search engine providing the most effective ways to find information online, improved navigation and site design. Your current login ID and password will remain the same. For more information about upcoming changes, read our Web Site FAQs. Watch for the redesigned worldatwork.org and worldatworksociety.org, launching April 30.

New Executive Compensation Issues Identifier Introduced
WorldatWork has launched a new, free online tool to help HR practitioners and others improve the executive rewards design process, raise design quality and increase opportunities for successful implementation.

The WorldatWork Executive Compensation Issues Identifier helps you deliberate your decisions and criteria in specific areas of executive compensation design, such as internal and external environments, stakeholders, disclosure and transparency. Using our questions to consider will help guide you as you design executive compensation plans.

Developed by the WorldatWork Executive Rewards Advisory Board, the new online tool takes a holistic and universal view of executive compensation plan design for any company, in any industry, anywhere.

WorldatWork Welcomes AWLP Members
On May 1, WorldatWork added nearly 500 new members to its ranks as all current Alliance for Work-Life Progress (AWLP) members officially became WorldatWork members.

AWLP, founded in 1996, has been an affiliate of WorldatWork since 2003, advancing work-life effectiveness through thought leadership, research and practical strategies.

By creating a single membership, all members of WorldatWork, regardless of their functional specialty or interests in total rewards, will have access to the tools and information they need to be successful,” said WorldatWork President Anne Ruddy, CCP. “Members will now have access to more content on strategies to attract, motivate and retain employees, which they can use to advance their organizations. This change also expands the networking and knowledge-exchange pool for all members.”

While no longer a membership organization, AWLP will remain the national center of work-life expertise that defines and recognizes innovation and best practice, and provides thought leadership. It continues to be the home of the 11-year-old Work-Life Innovative Excellence Award and the new Work-Life Rising Star recognition award, as well as the exclusive sponsor of the Rosabeth Moss Kanter Award for Excellence in Work-Family Research. Visit the brand-new public AWLP Web site at www.awlp.org.
