Now Seeking Nominations for Local Association of the Year Award
WorldatWork is accepting nominations
for its 2014 Local Association of the Year Award. This prestigious award will honor one WorldatWork Local Network group for its outstanding support of the HR profession in its local community and partnership with WorldatWork. Starting this year, WorldatWork Local Association of the Year nominations will also be considered for two additional certificate awards that highlight associations in the areas of Membership and Innovation. WorldatWork Local Network is an alliance of independent compensation, benefits and human resources organizations representing professionals globally. Our Local Network offers participating organizations networking advantages along with educational/fundraising opportunities such as sponsorship of WorldatWork seminars and events.
An Advisory Board made up of senior-level volunteers, annually appointed by the WorldatWork Board of Directors, provides oversight of the Local Network. The Advisory Board has established the following objectives:
- Communicate the status of WorldatWork operations, new products and services
- Assess stakeholders' needs via the Local Network "pipeline"
- Serve as WorldatWork goodwill ambassadors to local organizations
- Assist Local Network organizations in troubleshooting and solving organizational challenges
- Facilitate networking and joint ventures with fellow Local Network members and other local human resources organizations.

The adage of "strength in numbers" is clearly utilized by our group partners. Many of the challenges local human resources groups face are common concerns that already have been, or are currently being, addressed by other groups. Throughout the year, groups are encouraged to connect with one another to draw upon the accumulation of their diverse expertise.
- Training Program Sponsorship
Our Local Network members are able to sponsor compensation, benefits, work-life and total rewards classes. These seminars stimulate membership growth by providing valuable information and professional education; they also are a good way to provide funding for the local group. Many Local Network groups qualify to receive discounts on certification and skill-building seminars. Through education sponsorship, they bring training close to home, which saves group members considerable travel costs and time away from the office.

Our Local Network Membership Management Program is a robust, Web-enabled tool that enables groups to harness the power of a well-maintained, real-time membership database that is seamlessly transferable from one volunteer coordinator to another, year after year. Your membership administrator(s) can obtain real-time membership statistics and reports, create mailing labels effortlessly, access membership rosters and print a comprehensive, real-time membership directory. Plus, your members will be able to update their own membership information, renew their membership, and directly register for WorldatWork courses sponsored by your group -- online.

We will market your organization on our Web site as well as the WorldatWork courses the association offers
- Access WorldatWork Members
We want your events to be well attended, and we believe it is a service to our members to keep them abreast of local area HR happenings. Therefore, we share portions of our member mailing lists with members of our Local Network to promote attendance to their approved educational events
- Database Sharing
Your members will be kept informed of WorldatWork events by inclusion in our regular mailings. Together, by sharing databases, both of our organizations' members get the most current opportunities available for professional development.
- Free Advertising
Our Local Network members gain valuable exposure for their group and their group's events through items such as, links on our Web site and listings in our quarterly class schedule catalogs. Also, participants can share use of the esteemed WorldatWork name and logo on approved promotional materials.
- Leadership Conference
Each year WorldatWork invites the leaders of the groups involved in the Local Network to attend a two-day event where they can share best practices and network, hear experts address current issues facing associations and learn ways to fine tune education delivery to their membership body. Held annually in various locations around the United States, attendees rate this conference as a leading benefit of the WorldatWork Local Network.
