WorldatWork Web Site Redesign FAQs

On April 30, 2007, WorldatWork launched a redesigned Web site. The new site features easier navigation, streamlined searching and a choice of home pages to suit your professional interest. In an effort to anticipate questions from members/users about the changes, the following frequently asked questions have been developed as a reference.

Q: Why is WorldatWork redesigning its Web site?
It's been five years since the WorldatWork Web site was significantly enhanced. With more than 15 million pages viewed within www.worldatwork.org in 2006, a redesign team envisioned a new Web site that would make an impact on everyone who visits the site by using the latest technology and processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information. The new site will provide easy and fast access to knowledge that users need to do their jobs — organized and searchable in an intuitive way that's relevant to their needs. Many of the enhancements were the result of direct feedback from WorldatWork members.

Q: What is different about the new Web site?
The first aspect you will encounter on the new Web site will be an updated design and navigation of the site. Built on the basis of the total rewards model, the site will be much more user-friendly and finding what's of most interest to you faster. Also, you will find a much more robust search engine that will be more flexible to returning results to suit your needs. The new search engine provides an array of new tools to help you quickly locate the information you need. New features includes sorts by publish date, date range, relevance and data type. There are also options to refine your search. And you will now be capable of setting your homepage to your professional interests in: total rewards, compensation, benefits, work-life and performance and recognition.

Q: Why should I set my homepage?
By setting a homepage on the new WorldatWork Web site you will be able to more quickly access the news, information and resources that you are most interested in. Also, you will be able to more quickly connect with other like-minded professionals for networking purposes.

Q: How can I set my homepage?
The first time you logon to the new www.worldatwork.org, a default total rewards home page will appear. You may leave your homepage on total rewards, or set it to one of the specific content pages based on your professional interest. The homepages for compensation, benefits, work-life and performance and recognition include a link at the top of the page to set it as your WorldatWork homepage. No matter which homepage you choose, news, online tools, educational opportunities, event updates and helpful information on every element of total rewards is just a click away.

Q: Do I need a new login ID and password?
No. Your current WorldatWork user ID and password will not change.

Q: I don't know my login ID or password. How can I get that?
If you don't know your ID number, you can get it from the mailing panel of any WorldatWork catalogue or periodical, a WorldatWork invoice or receipt, your member ID card or by contacting Customer Relationship Services at 877/951-9191 (toll free); 480/922-2020 or customerrelations@worldatwork.org.

Q: How do I login?
Enter your 8-digit membership ID number OR the e-mail address currently on file at WorldatWork in the Customer ID Number field. Note: If you use your e-mail address, to protect your privacy it will be necessary to change your password first. Enter your password (case sensitive). Click the "Login" button. The system will display the secured screen. If you have entered all information correctly and you receive an error message, please check your entries and try again. If you may have forgotten your password, use the "Get password" link.

Q: Will other WorldatWork-affiliated Web sites be redesigned as well?

Q: I've registered for a Webinar/CourseCast, etc. Will the launch of a new Web site impact my accessing the online event?
No, there have not been any database changes, only changes to the Web site interface.

Q: What happened to the Canadian and Global Web sites?
To truly be a worldwide association, the redesign team has combined these sites into one inclusive, information-packed Web site at www.worldatwork.org.

Q: What about pages from the old site that I have bookmarked as favorites?
You'll have to save those pages as favorites again. You can now easily bookmark any page or forward any link to pages to colleagues.
