do you know where can I find what was the national average turnover rate for 2009? I have looked around but haven't been able to find anything that I can use as a backup to explain our company's  turnover and how it compares to the national standard.

I have some figures for 2009 Turnover for For Profit Organizations:

Median = 13.7%

Average = 15.7%

Thank you Claudia.  would this be for voluntary turnover only?

Sorry, sometimes I don't track topics so I didn't see your question.  That was total turnover.  Voluntary turnover was lower - median was 7%

By the way, 2010 figures are lower:

Average = 10.5%

Median = 7.7%

Claudia, you had the 2009 voluntary figure. Do you happen to have the 2010 voluntary figure?

Voluntary median turnover for 2010 = 4.1%
