Jeff Chambers, WLCP, Chief Human Resources Officer, University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina
Jeff Chambers was named chief human resources officer of University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina in June 2011. Previously, Jeff was senior vice president, human resources and legal affairs for PRA International, a global clinical research organization and spent eight years as vice president, human resources for SAS, a software company that was named one of Fortune Magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" for each of those years. Jeff also worked as senior corporate counsel for SAS and corporate counsel at MassMutual Life Insurance Company.
He earned a B.A. in political science from Bucknell University and a J.D. from Villanova University of Law. He has been a WorldatWork member since 2005.
Michael Davis, CCP, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, General Mills
Mike Davis joined General Mills in 1996 and is senior vice president of global human resources with responsibility for all human resource functions at General Mills. Previously, he was vice president, human resources, U.S. retail and corporate for three years, and prior to that he served for nine years as vice president, Compensation & Benefits.
Before joining General Mills, Davis worked for 15 years as a compensation consultant with Towers Perrin. When he left Towers Perrin in 1996, he was the firm’s worldwide practice leader for executive compensation.
Since 2006 Mike has served as an adjunct professor at the Carlson School of Management at University of Minnesota. He is chairman of the board of directors of the Employee Benefits Research Institute, a former board member and board chairman of the National Business Group on Health, a vice-chairman of the Human Resources Policy Association, and a board member of the National Committee on Quality Assurance.
Davis has two Bachelor of Science degrees from Purdue University in industrial management and computer science, and an MBA in accounting and finance from the University of Chicago. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
Margaret “Maggie” Gagliardi, CCP, Retired Senior Vice President, Global Compensation & Benefits, American Express
Maggie is the retired senior vice president of global compensation & benefits for American Express where she led a worldwide staff of 115 to develop innovative compensation and benefits strategies for more than 66,000 employees in over 130 countries.
She was a member of the WorldatWork Board of Directors beginning in 2003, becoming board chair in 2007. In 2010, she chaired the Society Board. Maggie received her BA from Hunter College and her MBA from New York University. Since retiring from American Express, she has been the managing partner of MMG Advisors and has acted as an independent consultant on a selective basis.
Karen Ickes, CBP, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, The Wendy's Company
Karen is the senior vice president human resources for The Wendy’s Company. The Wendy’s Company is one of the world’s largest restaurant operating and franchising companies with more than 6,500 restaurants in the U.S. and 25 other countries and U.S. territories worldwide. Wendy’s has more than 40,000 company employees and 200,000 systemwide employees.
She has extensive experience in human resources and is a member of the senior leadership team for Wendy’s. Karen has been actively involved in numerous mergers, acquisitions and divestitures and has experience on both the corporate and operating division levels within retailing, manufacturing and banking organizations. In January 2005, Wendy’s became one of the first national employers to introduce a full replacement consumer-directed health plan with health savings accounts. Karen was responsible for creating the consumer-driven health-care strategy, as well as provide leadership and direction to the formulation of the plan designs and implementation strategies.
She holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from The Ohio State University, majoring in human resources and labor relations. Karen served for three years on the WorldatWork Benefits Advisory Board, two years as chair. She has been a guest speaker at the number of conferences and seminars on the topic of HSA’s and consumer-driven health care. Karen also sits on the board of directors of the National Business Group on Health.
Sara R. McAuley, CCP, WLCP, Managing Partner, McAuley Consulting Group
McAuley Consulting Group provides human capital strategies, total rewards design, and organization planning critical to execution of strategic business plans.
Prior to her current role, Sara was executive vice president of human resources for Tygris Commercial Finance where she was responsible for leading Tygris’ human resource organization. Previously, she was vice president, human resources at Standard & Poor’s where she led the global Human Resources organization and directed organization design, change management, reward system management, recruitment, diversity management, staff development and succession planning. Sara has also held various positions in human resources at AT&T Capital, Tupperware, and The Quaker Oats Company.
She holds a bachelor's degree in industrial relations from the University of Iowa and an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management.
Sara is a former WorldatWork faculty member and has been a member of WorldatWork since 1983. She has served in various capacities for the United Way of Morris County, New Jersey.

Previously he was vice president, global rewards and recognition for Delta Air Lines; director of human resources, commercial, government and industrial systems sector for Motorola; and corporate director, compensation and benefits for Aon Corporation.
Dave earned a bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences from Indiana University and a master’s degree in industrial relations from St. Francis College.
He has served as a member of the WorldatWork Executive Rewards Advisory Board and has been on the WorldatWork faculty for executive rewards. He has been a WorldatWork member since 1998.

Carrolyn J. Bostick, Vice President, Talent Management & Human Resources Operations, Intelsat
Carrolyn is an executive with comprehensive human resources and leadership experience in industries as diverse as finance, transportation, insurance, utilities and telecommunications. She has a track record of success in returning value to the business through the implementation of effective human resources strategies and practices in all areas of HR. She has served on the boards of Junior Achievement and the recruitment advisory board of American University.
She is currently the vice president, talent management and human resources operations for Intelsat, a global communications leader, where she is responsible for organizational and employee development, global talent acquisition, employee relations, HR compliance, international human resources, succession planning, global mobility and policy development.
She is an expert in leading the HR integration of mergers and acquisitions, including cultural integration to ensure the successful assimilation of merging entities. She is an experienced executive coach who effectively helps to sharpen the skills of key leaders. She is the architect of Intelsat's Leadership Academy that is transforming the company's culture from technical leadership to business leadership, including tiered development of executives, high potentials, mid-level managers and individual contributors. Other accomplishments include transforming several HR organizations from reactive to proactive business solutions environments.
Her career includes human resources leadership roles at PEPCO, U.S. Fidelity & Guarantee, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, and SallieMae. She is a graduate of Ambassador College and holds a master's degree from Howard University.
Trevor Blackman, Director, Group Remuneration and Benefits, Royal Bank of Scotland
As director, Trevor leads the team responsible for the design and implementation of the reward strategy and policies within the Royal Bank of Scotland Group. Prior to Royal Bank of Scotland Group, Trevor was the Principal Consultant with Hay Management Consultants. He has many years of experience with total rewards strategies, variable & incentive pay plans, performance management programs, and executive compensation & benefits.
He earned his post graduate certificate in education from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and his masters degree in geography & anthropology from Jesus College. Trevor has been a WorldatWork member since 1992 and is a fellow of both the Institute of Bankers in Scotland and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
M. Alan Gardner, Vice President, Human Resources, Verizon Communications
Alan is vice president — human resources for Verizon Wireless. He is responsible for all human resources strategies and programs, including talent acquisition, talent management, employee engagement, compensation and benefits, workforce development, and diversity and compliance.
Previously, he was vice president — total rewards for Verizon’s corporate human resources organization, a position he held from 2006 until 2010 when he was named to his current position.
He also has held leadership positions in human resources areas such as compensation & benefits, HR systems, safety & environment, workforce performance, HR operations, HR strategy & planning and leadership development.
Alan began his career in 1989 in the GTE Information Technology organization. His career has also included assignments with responsibility for sales operations, sales team training and sales support.
He has a B.S. in computer science from the University of North Texas, a management certificate from the University of Texas at Austin, and is a graduate of the Executive MBA program at the Southern Methodist University, Cox School of Business.
Kevin Hallock, Ph.D., Director of the Institute for Compensation Studies (ICS), Joseph R. Rich ’80 Professor, Professor of Economics and Professor of Human Resource Studies at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.
In addition to his responsibilities at Cornell University, Kevin is Distinguished Principal Research Fellow at the Conference Board and Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). In July 2012 he will become chairman of the department of economics at Cornell.
His current research is focused on the intersection of compensation design and labor markets, and currently examines executive compensation, the valuation of stock options, and the plan design and mix of employee compensation. He has written extensively on executive compensation in the for-profit and nonprofit worlds. His most recent book is Pay: Why People Earn What They Earn and What You Can Do Now to Make More, forthcoming by Cambridge University Press. Kevin's work has been published in a variety of outlets and his research has been supported from various sources, including the National Bureau of Economic Research, the United States Department of Labor, and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. He is the recipient of the Albert Rees Prize for the Best Dissertation in Labor Economics from Princeton University and of the John Dunlop Outstanding Young Scholar Award from the Labor and Employment Relations Association.
Kevin earned a B.A. in Economics, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a Ph.D. in economics from Princeton University. He has been a WorldatWork member since 2006.
Ann Hatcher, CCP, Vice President of Human Resources, HCA Information Technology & Services, Inc.
Ann is vice president of human resources, HCA Information Technology & Services, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nashville-based HCA (Hospital Corporation of America). HCA IT&S supplies IT services to HCA’s over 160 hospitals, as well as over 145 non-HCA facilities, through a staff of over 3,000 employees. She also leads human resources support of HCA’s electronic health record initiative.
Ann has held management positions in HCA’s human resources department since 1998. In 2004, she led the successful redesign of the company’s executive compensation and long-term incentive programs, and in 2006 the human resources department’s support of HCA’s leveraged buyout transaction. Other notable initiatives include the roll out of a national management development curriculum in 2010, and the development of a chief nursing officer development program.
Ann currently serves on the Board of WorldatWork, the leading professional association for total rewards professionals. She represents HCA on the board of CAHME, the Commission for the Accreditation of Health Management Education, and is a member of the Career and Technical Education Foundation Board of Trustees. She also serves on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee, and the Tennessee State Workforce Board.
Prior to joining HCA in 1997, Ann served in management positions in human resources and commercial banking within NationsBank (now Bank of America).
Ann, a Certified Compensation Professional, holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, and an MBA from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. She resides in Nashville with her husband Scott and son Joseph.
Desiree Isabelle Klein-Wagner, GRP, Executive Vice President, Global Reward & Performance, Allianz SE
Desiree has worked in HR leadership roles in major corporations such as BP, Nokia, Intel and HP in Europe and the United States. In her most recent role as global head of reward & performance for the Allianz Group, Desiree managed Allianz' global C&B strategy and board/executive reward programs, including advising the Group Compensation Committee. The Allianz Group is one of the leading integrated financial services providers with 155,000 employees worldwide, serving approximately 75 million customers in about 70 countries. Desiree recently took a sabbatical till June 2012.
She is an active member of the C&B community having served on steering committees of various compensation groups in Europe and the U.S. A strong supporter of the value of WorldatWork Certifications and professional development, she co-founded the European Rewards Consortium which provides support and venues for WorldatWork programs throughout Europe. Desiree has been a frequent presenter at WorldatWork conferences and events in both the U.S. and Europe and also served on the board of the Global Equity Organization for the 2009/2010 cycle.
Desiree holds a business/computer science degree from Berufsakademie Stuttgart (Germany) and an MBA from Insead Fontainebleau (France). She received her GRP certification in 2003.

Tracy J. O. Kofski, CCP, CBP, GRP, Vice President Global Compensation, Benefits, & HR Systems Strategy, General Mills
Tracy leads the executive and broad-based compensation, benefits, relocation, global mobility, and HR systems strategy for the more than 30,000 employees worldwide within General Mills. She is also the HRVP business partner for the external relations and corporate communications functions within the company.
Prior to General Mills, Tracy was vice president, pay & benefits for Target Corporation. Additionally, she has prior experience as both an HR generalist and specialist at General Mills, and several years as a compensation and performance management consultant for Deloitte & Touche.
Tracy earned her MBA from Loyola Marymount University and her bachelor's degree in organizational studies from the University of Michigan.
Prior to her Society Board service, Tracy served on the board of directors for WorldatWork, which included roles on the executive committee and as the board chair. She has her Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), and Global Remuneration Professional (GRP) designations. Tracy is currently serving on the board of directors for the National Business Group on Health. She is a member of the Conference Board Council on Executive Compensation, subscriber to the Human Resource Policy Association’s Center on Executive Compensation, and on the board for the National Business Group on Health’s Global Health Benefits Institute. Tracy and her husband, Rich, reside in Tonka Bay, MN, with their two sons.
Kumar Kymal, Vice President, Global Rewards, Research in Motion
Kumar is vice president of global rewards for Research In Motion (BlackBerry), with responsibility for global strategy, design and administration. The reward function encompasses executive and broad based compensation, variable and equity programs, benefits & organizational health, international and domestic mobility, work-life and recognition. He also serves as the chair of the North American Savings Plan Committee, a role appointed by the board of directors.
Kumar has more than 20 years of global experience working for organizations such as Nokia, NCR, ITT, Cisco and AT&T. He has held senior leadership positions in HR and reward, at both global and regional levels, and has expertise in change management, leadership and talent development, mergers & acquisitions, and recruitment.
Kumar has lived and worked in Canada, Finland, France, UK, and the US. He holds an undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and a masters in industrial relations from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Kumar is active in the global rewards community and has been on the Global Advisory Board of WorldatWork since 2009. He has served on the steering committees of various compensation groups in Europe since the mid 90s. He is also a frequent speaker at conferences including at the WorldatWork Total Rewards Conference in 2010 and 2011.
Nathalie Parent, CCP, GRP, CBP, CSCP, CHRP, Vice President, Global Human Resources, Corel Corporation
Nathalie has served as a member of Corel's senior executive team since joining the company in April 2009. In her current role as vice president, human resources, Nathalie is responsible for compensation and benefits, organizational development, talent management, HR systems, employee relations and communications.
Prior to joining Corel, she spent 13 years at Cognos Incorporated both in Canada and in Europe, most recently serving as vice president, HR, global operations where she was responsible for field operations across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. Prior to her work at Cognos, Nathalie served as a compensation and benefits consultant at Watson Wyatt Worldwide.
Nathalie received a bachelor of science in mathematics from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. She is a member of the faculty, and prior to her Board service, she was a member of the Global Advisory Board and a presenter at numerous WorldatWork conferences. Brit Wittman, CCP, Director, Executive Compensation and Corporate Compensation Design, Intel Corporation
Brit leads a global team responsible for the design, implementation and administration of all variable, equity and executive compensation programs for the more than 100,000 employees of Intel.
Prior to joining Intel in 2008, Brit was the director of executive compensation for Dell, Inc. During his tenure at Dell, Brit was integral in shaping the HR strategies required to ameliorate the impact to employees that resulted when the company failed to remain current in its regulatory filings with the SEC.
Prior to Dell, Brit held various positions with Cisco Systems in both line and staff HR capacities, culminating in the director of executive compensation position. He has also held executive compensation positions at both Lucent Technologies and AT&T Corp.
Brit holds a B.A. in history from Rutgers University. Brit is a member of the WorldatWork faculty and the Executive Compensation Advisory Board. He is also a former board member of the National Center for Employee Ownership, and is a frequent speaker at WorldatWork and various compensation events.
Brit, his wife, Enid, their son, Aidan, and daughter Ava, reside in Portland, Oregon where they enjoy, respectively: working late, quilting, playing video-games and playing princess Disney-style.
