The trends of value alignment (also called segmentation) and talent management linkage are very clear and pronounced here in Asia. it is a natural result of greater cost pressure, greater focus on retention and development of key talent, and also of an increased supply of talent willing to be mobile for career growth, especially talent coming from the U.S., the UK and Eurozone with weakening job security. I would add another trend, which is a fresh focus on LOCAL talent development, i.e. the importance of a strong non-mobile workforce in each location, to reduce the need for expatriates, and better enable effective repatriation and localization.
