Update on Total Rewards Legislation (July 10, 2008)
Update on Total Rewards Legislation
July 10, 2008 — Yesterday I blogged about some key bills to watch. One of those bills, H.R. 6382, the Pension Protection Technical Corrections Act of 2008, was approved by the House of Representatives yesterday. This bill could quickly be taken up by the Senate and sent to the president. This bill is a follow-up bill to the Pension Protection Act of 2006. A technical corrections bill generally is a bill to make minor, non-substantive corrections to the original law. However, many times, as in this case, some substantive provisions are included.
If you need more information on the Pension Protection Act of 2006, the IRS has a great page of resources.
