WorldatWork Issue Tracker: Ledbetter/Pay Discrimination

Issue Tracker Archives

Ledbetter Fair Pay Act
Archived October 2011. This resource listing is no longer maintained.

The Ledbetter Fair Pay Act (H.R. 2831) would allow employees to file a claim within 180 days of any paycheck that has been diminished as a result of discrimination, even if the discriminatory act took place decades ago. Going beyond reversing the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Ledbetter v. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. Inc., it eliminates the statute of limitations for most pay discrimination claims.
