Bertice Berry
Author, educator and social activist

Bertice Berry, a former award winning entertainer, lecturer and comedienne, is also a best selling author of an inspirational memoir, I’m On My Way, But Your Foot is on my Head. Growing up poor, Berry overcame many obstacles to not only excel in school, but earned a Ph.D. in sociology and statistics at Kent State University. After teaching at the college level for several years, she left academia to pursue a career in comedy, radio and television. She hosted and co-produced her own nationally syndicated talk show.

In her keynote presentation, “Finding Your Purpose,” Berry discusses the importance of finding your purpose in life and leading others into purpose. She also discusses different learning styles and points out how crucial it is to learn the style that works best for yourself and the people you are leading.
